Our Review

Bistro Sorrento is our pick when we want something completely different from the seafood and pasta restaurants that dominate the Sorrento Peninsula. Meat is very much the star here: there is an ageing room, an open kitchen and a huge choice of premium cuts, including Italian breeds, Spanish beef and Wagyu. Despite the serious approach to food, it still feels warm and personal rather than overly formal. For meat lovers, this is one of the most interesting dinners you can have in Sorrento.

How to find it

It is on Via Atigliana 23/25, uphill from central Sorrento. Taxi is the easiest option if you are staying in the centre.

What We Loved / Recommend

The meat tasting menu is the obvious choice for a first visit. Otherwise, ask which aged cuts are particularly good that day. The handmade pasta is also worth considering rather than going straight from starter to steak. Their current menu includes Italian Wagyu, Chianina, Marchigiana, Galician beef and Japanese Wagyu/Kobe-style selections.
Best for:
Couples, special dinners, meat lovers and food-focused travellers.

Good to Know

It is outside the pedestrian centre, so this isn't somewhere we would casually walk to after an evening around Piazza Tasso. However, they offer a complementary shuttle service to and from your accommodation. Book ahead, particularly in summer, and allow plenty of time for dinner—the experience is designed to be enjoyed slowly.
