A polished, family-run hotel in a panoramic position above Positano, with sea-view rooms and suites, a rooftop pool, excellent dining and the sort of warm, attentive service that makes a complicated destination feel surprisingly easy.

Eden Roc is a very good choice if you want the full Positano experience — the view, the terraces and the sense of occasion — without sacrificing practical comforts. Nearly everything revolves around the panorama, from breakfast to the rooftop pool, and the hotel’s position gives you the classic view across Positano’s colourful houses and the sea.
What makes it especially useful, though, is that it works for more than just romantic trips. There are proper family suites and larger multi-bedroom options, while couples can choose Junior Suites or Jacuzzi Suites with private outdoor whirlpools. The hotel also has a strong food and drink offering, including Adamo ed Eva, Roc Pizza & Steak and the Eden Sky Bar, so staying in for dinner does not feel like a compromise.
Service is another reason we recommend it. Staff is warm and attentive, organised and genuinely helpful, particularly with transfers, ferries and the practical side of navigating Positano. That matters here more than in many destinations.
Eden Roc sits on Via Marconi above the pedestrian centre, so there is still some uphill and downhill walking involved. Spiaggia Grande and the main shopping streets are reachable on foot, but the return journey is naturally steeper; the local bus stops very close to the hotel and can be useful after a long day. If you are sensitive to noise, it is worth asking about room position as higher-floor room may be preferable. Parking is available but is charged separately, which is normal for Positano. The hotel has a wellness centre with sauna, steam room and treatments, but some wellness services may involve an additional charge, so check what is included in your rate before booking.
Eden Roc is in a panoramic position just above the centre. The hotel describes itself as only a short walk from Spiaggia Grande and the lanes of central Positano, while the La Sponda bus stop is only a few metres from the entrance. This is a very practical position for Positano because you can reach the centre on foot without having to stay right at beach level, where access with luggage can be more difficult. If you arrive by ferry, the hotel recommends using porter assistance for luggage; alternatively, private transfers can be arranged. If you are driving, there is private parking at the hotel — a real advantage in Positano — although it comes at an additional cost. Once parked, we would leave the car there and explore Positano on foot or by local bus.
